Learn how each person’s worldview shapes their interpretation of current events, and understand how human history led us to our current economic, energy and social crossroads.
Part 2: Economy - the infinite growth paradigm
Clarifying the current economic crisis by examining how and why it happened, and what might happen next.
Part 3: The Oil Age - oil dependence, depletion and human survival
The latest predictions for global peak oil production are 2012-2014. What will happen after the peak?
Track 2: Act Locally
Defining a new culture and identifying actions to be the change we want to see.

Part 1: Small steps toward big change - examining your daily routine
Learn to identify the steps each of us can take to contribute to a cultural shift, from the moment we wake up until moment we go to bed. Pick and choose what works for you.
Part 2: Building community through citizen - government partnerships
Learn how citizens and citizen groups can make a difference in our community as local government is squeezed by the greater economic crisis.
Part 3: Building trust across political “lines”
Learn how what you say is interpreted, and how we can adjust our communication to build trust and common ground with neighbors across the political spectrum.

Class times: 6-7:30pm, at the APPLE Center. Course format will include short lectures, small and large group discussions, and some preparatory “homework.” Pre-registration is required. $30 individual or $50 couple per track. Maximum enrollment: 20 participants per track. Attendance to all three parts of your chosen track is strongly recommended.
